चार्ल्स डार्विनचा उत्क्रांतीवादाचा सिद्धांत वाचताना एका गोष्टीचा प्रामुख्याने उल्लेख आढळतो कि, नैसर्गिक निवड प्रक्रियेत बलशाली जीवाला अधिक कठीण परिस्थितीला सामोरे जाऊन स्वतः मध्ये बदल घडवून टिकाव धरता येतो. म्हणजेच कठीण परिथितीतुन टिकाव धरण्या साठी अधिक बलशाली जीवांची निवड निसर्गा द्वारे होते असे दिसून येते. जसे, सर्वात कठीण युद्ध करिता सर्वोतृष्ट सैनिकांची निवड केली जाते. संपूर्ण सृष्टीत आपली प्रजाती अस्तित्वात राहावी म्हणून गर्भ धारण करून संगोपन करण्या सारखी अतिशय महत्वाची आणि खडतर प्रक्रियेची जबाबदारी निसर्गाने शक्तिशाली जीव म्हणूनच स्त्रीतत्वाला निवडले असावे, मानवजातीचे अस्तित्व सांभाळणे या पलीकडची मोठी जबाबदारी कदाचित कोणती नसावी. एकंदरीत स्त्री असणं हीच एक सुपरपॉवर आहे, या बाबत कोणतेही दुमत नाही, किंवा तुलना हि नाही. बाकी सामाजिक रूढी आणि परंपरांचा, पुरुषी अहंकाराचा, आणि सोयीस्कर रित्या रचलेल्या भंपक प्रथा, यांनी सामाजिक बुद्धिमत्तेचा ताबा घेऊन आलेली साचेबद्धता दूर करून अनंत काळाच्या ह्या मातेला आज आंतरराष्ट्रीय महिला दिनानिमित्त नमन करूयात.
